What is Shrimp Bisque?
Bisque is a thick, creamy soup which originated in France. It is usually made with seafood like lobster, crab, crayfish or Shrimp.Originally, the Shrimp Bisque recipes were made by cooking the shrimp in the shell, peeling the shrimp, returning the shells to the pot and later pureeing the shells.
Today, many of the “modern” recipes, I am sure were probably derived at home by modern-busy-on-the-go people who didn’t want to take time to fuss with all of the shrimp shells. They do not include pureeing the shrimp shells.
